Reading the Trail Markers

Reading trail markers can sometimes be tricky and confusing. Always pay attention to your surroundings and never continue on what you think is the trail if you do not see any trail markers. If you find yourself in that situation, backtrack to the last trail marker you saw and observe your surroundings. You can always go back the same way you came if you are unsure.

The "Highlands Trail" is a trail marked with a turquoise diamond.

It connects the Delaware and Hudson Rivers.

"When completed, it will extend over 150 miles from the Connecticut border south to Riegelsville, NJ, on the Delaware River. The route will connect major scenic attractions in both states.
